EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - Here are some of the top stories this week in Eastchester:

  • The Eastchester Police Department installed in-car video cameras for the entire fleet. The Lanza Family Foundation donated $83,000 to the department for the cameras, which were manufactured by L-3 Communications Mobile Video Inc. The system will activate when a car’s lights and sirens are turned on.
  • Budding basketball players in the Children Understanding Cultural Differences organization completed several months of competition this summer with the help of local sponsors. The organization. founded three years ago to bring together youngsters from Eastchester, Tuckhaoe and Bronxville for competition in recreation basketball, has played in several leagues and tournaments.
  • After several months in limbo, the proposed ban on plastic bags in Tuckahoe retail stores is set to come to a vote next week.
