- Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a bill into law on Wednesday that is intended to more fairly distribute the costs of operating fire hydrants.
- Firefighters from New Rochelle battled a fire at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Mid-Westchester on Wilmot Road in Scarsdale on Wednesday night.
- Three New York State Assembly members have sent a letter to the state Board of Regents calling on the board to slow down the implementation of the new Common Core Learning Standards in schools.
The Westchester County Department of Public Safety and Tuckahoe Police Department have reached a deal for shared services, according to county representatives.
