Caterina DePippo, 88, Eastchester Resident

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Caterina DePippo, a longtime resident of Eastchester, died Monday, April 18, at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. She was 88.

She was born Aug. 17, 1927, in San Sossio Baronia, Italy, to Enrico and Maria Antonia Frano Romeo. She came to the United States in 1948, and married Alfonso DePippo, that same year.

She was survived by her children, Rosetta (Kevin) McArdle, Marie, Henry, Alfonso (Kathy) DePippo, and her daughter-in-law, Judy. 

She also is survived by 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her sisters, Elvira Castellano and Felicia Capodilupo.

She was predeceased by her son Joseph A. DePippo and a grandson, Nicholas DePippo.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes, 824 Scarsdale Ave., Scarsdale. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Assumption Church in Tuckahoe. Interment Holy Mount Cemetery Eastchester.

In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to Police Officer Joseph A. DePippo Memorial Scholarship Fund, 40 Mill Road, Eastchester NY 10709; or to the Nicholas DePippo Athletic Scholarship. The donation should be made payable to Eastchester School District and mailed to 2 Stewart Place, Eastchester NY 10709, adding Nicholas DePippo Scholarship to the memo.
