John Bottjer, 88, Of Eastchester

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. — John H. Bottjer, a 62-year resident of Eastchester, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 28. He was 88.

Bottjer was born on April 27, 1926 in Brooklyn to John and Dorothy Bottjer.

He attended Erasmus Hall High School and graduated from Columbia University with a degree in economics in 1948 receive a master's degree in economics from Haverford College in Haverfiord, Pa..

Bottjer is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three sons, David and his wife, Sarah, Paul, John and his wife, Lauri, and his granddaughter Kendall.

Visiting hours will be at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, at 2 Maple Ave. in White Plains, on Mondayfrom 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 3 Carhart Ave. in White Plains, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.
