John Lefervoich Jr., 83, Longtime Eastchester Resident

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- John Lefervoich Jr., a longtime resident of Eastchester, died Monday, Aug. 3, at the age 83.

Lefervoich was born Nov. 6, 1931, to  John and Anna (Capko) Leferovich.

In 1953, he graduated from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was also a 1958 graduate of Columbia Law School.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55. For 25 years he was the general counsel to the New York State Bankers Association.

His vocation was law, and his avocation was magic. He was a magician who was a past president of the Society of American Magicians Parent Assembly 1. Lefervoich and his sons performed magic shows for many years as Magic by the 3 Ls.

He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Bronxville.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary (Gulbenkian) Leferovich; two sons, John Leferovich III and Douglas Leferovich; and a sister, Ann Neufeld.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Westchester Funeral Home Inc. in Eastchester. A service will take place at Christ Episcopal Church in Bronxville on Friday at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Aplha Chi Rho fraternity, 219 S. 36th St., Philadelphia, PA 19104 at the University of Pennsylvania.
