Gallowas born in Bronxville and attended schools in Tuckahoe and Eastchester. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Iona College in New Rochelle and worked for 21 years for Continental Can. He later owned a laundromat and liquor store, worked for the Internal Revenue Service and became a real estate broker.
He was married to his wife, Carol, for 55 years and enjoyed spending time in Florida, Rhode Island and Vermont. He enjoyed time with family, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons Christopher (Noreen); Michael; Kenneth II (Anne); Paul; Jonathan (Paige); Daniel (Katy); and Brian (Lindsey); 15 (soon 16) grandchildren; and his brother Donald (Angela).
A wake will be held from Monday, Aug. 26 from 4-8 at Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester. Funeral services will be at The Assumption Church, Tuckahoe, Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. with the burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kenneth Gallo’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
