Peter J. Lombardi, 58, Of Eastchester, Owned Sportland

PELHAM, N.Y. - Peter J. Lombardi of Pelham July 31. He was 58.

Lombardi was born June 22, 1955, in New York City, to Frank Lombardi and Eleanor Lombardi. He was a lifelong resident of Pelham where he attended Colonial Elementary School, Pelham Middle School, Pelham High School and Iona College. He worked in sales at Longines-Wittnauer Watch Company prior to owning a popular sporting goods store in Eastchester, Sportland. He was a volunteer in various Pelham activities, most notably, co-founder and president of the Pelham Youth Tackle Association since 1999.

Lombardi is survived by his wife, Joanne Lombardi; son, Peter John Jr.; daughter, Caroline; mother, Eleanor of New Rochelle; six siblings, Marie Grosso (Fran), Linda Sallustio (Frank), Lillian Sibrizzi (Steve), Jean Kitay (Tom), John Lombardi and Francine Arred (Ralph); seven sisters-in-law and their spouses; 24 nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Frank.

Services will be held Friday, Aug. 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pelham Funeral Home, Lincoln Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 3 at Saint Catherine's Church, on 2nd Ave. in Pelham. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
