Robert J. Russell, 82, Of Eastchester; Former Business Owner

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - Robert J. Russell, 82, a lifelong resident of Eastchester, died Sunday, Feb. 1.

The former owner of Bob Russell Auto Body, he was very active in community service. He served as president of the Eastchester Board of Education and was past president and a 50-year member of the Eastchester Rotary Club.

Russell was one of the founding members of the Eastchester Blue Devils and played Santa Claus at many community events.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Spence) Wong and Nancy (Anthony) DeNicola; one son, Robert J. Russell Jr.; and five grandchildren.

His wife, Jane; and a daughter, Bobbi Jane Russell, died earlier.

Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main St., Eastchester.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
