Attempted Home Break-In, LPR Arrest Top Bronxville Police Blotter

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Police in Bronxville are investigating an attempted break-in at a village residence.

On Tuesday, June 20, officers were dispatched to a home on the ByWay, where a homeowner reported to police that she had come home to find that a third story window had been broken.

According to police, during the subsequent investigation, detectives determined that the broken window was a from a person who had attempted to gain unlawful entry from the residence.

Despite the broken window and attempted break-in, no items were reported missing from the home. Police are actively investigating the incident.

Other items on the Bronxville police blotter from Tuesday, June 20 through Tuesday, June 27 include:

  • A License Plate Reader alarm led to the traffic stop of 31-year-old Hawthorne resident Bathen Ifrah, who was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, and cited for an unregistered vehicle and operating without insurance. His Hummer was impounded and he was released from the scene after being ticketed. He is due back in court later this year.
  • Police are investigating a strange package that was delivered to a Prescott Avenue home, which was not ordered. Police said the incident is currently under investigation.
