According to police, shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, a Myrtledale Road resident arrived home from work and spotted a vehicle parked in front of his residence he did not recognize. He stated that he observed two people in the bushes near his front bay window that were walking toward the car.
When the homeowner approached the vehicle, the driver fled suddenly on Myrtledale Road, toward Mamaroneck Road, leaving one party behind. When asked what he was doing, the man said he was using the bathroom and ran off in the same direction as the vehicle.
An investigation into the incident revealed that there was a broken storm window, which was in the rear and side of the home in the area that the suspects appeared to be coming from.
The man told police that he didn’t recognize the people on his property and he failed to get a license plate number. Police subsequently canvassed the area without tracking down any suspects and a Westchester County Police Department K9 Unit was dispatched to search for the subjects with negative results.
