Cortlandt Neighbors Notes

Kami Johannsen and her sisters, Paige, Emma and Maggie had a musical bake sale and lemonade stand this past weekend with all proceeds being donated to disabled veterans.  Rain was no deterrent to the talented quartet who were proud to sell their products on Sunday and Monday.  Kami strummed her guitar while her sisters ran the store.  Brownies, cupcakes, ice pops, iced tea and lemonade were all available for purchase for 50 cents each.  Be on the lookout for these enterprising and charitable events throughout the summer at the Viking Boat Yard in Verplanck.

On July 1, Megan Welch of Verplanck, and Ryan McConville of Cold Spring became engaged!  Megan is a fifth grade teacher at Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School and Ryan, a seventh grade social studies teacher in the Dover Central School district.  The couple is planning their wedding for the summer of 2012.  They will begin married life together at a new home in Fishkill.

Every once in a while your baby makes a face and you know he or she IS in fact the cutest baby in the world.  Cindy Barry took a picture of her daughter Christina which she knew was darn, stinking cute.  Then she found out about the 2011 Gerber Generation Photo Search on Facebook and she just had to enter her cutest baby.  There are a wonderful array of prizes, but, the top prize is a $50,000 college scholarship.  As the only girl and 4th child of the Barry’s that prize will come in VERY handy!  So, run to Facebook and place your vote!
