We appreciate their detailed approach regarding the guidance experience at THS. Their insight into the college acceptance process was invaluable. Guidance is also sponsoring a practice ACT for Juniors on Wednesday morning before the holiday break.

My trip to Albany last week was an interesting learning experience. I will be working with two high schools in the state. Most interesting was the diversity around the state with regard to rural, suburban, and city districts. One upstate principal told me many of his students go hunting before their school day begins.

Our S.T.E.A.M. class is receiving good reviews from an interdisciplinary approach and a career perspective. Recently, students learned about being a successful small business leader as Nicole Pushkal, of Nicole Interior Designers in Tuckahoe, visited their class. She engaged the students with decisions business managers need to make with regard to customer satisfaction, inventory costs, pricing, personnel, and sales, amongst others.

Best wishes to Carl Albano as he was appointed Superintendent of Schools effective 2016-17. We look forward to his continuing support of THS in the future.

Good luck to our Varsity Football Team today as they play in the NYS Semifinal game versus Ticonderoga at 4 p.m. at Dietz Stadium in Kingston.

Congratulations to Alessia Conte who was named Class C Soccer MVP, Christopher Corrado, Class D Football MVP, and to Austin Pope who has signed a commitment letter to Fairfield University and its Division One baseball team.

Finally, I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving and safe travel during the holiday weekend.

Regards,

Principal Bart Linehan
