A nature enthusiast, Garriel is the author of "Wolves and their Ways," "The Underwater Life of Rivers," and "Underwater Cities – the Coral Reefs, and Endangered Sea Life," non-fiction science books for children. Each book contains vibrant and detailed photos, diagrams, tables, and maps.
"I Know a Shy Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello," appeals to children of all ages. It has rollicking, humorous text, wacky, colorful illustrations, and was nominated for the EB White Read Aloud Award.
Garriel wrote an original song to accompany the book, available on CD, that also features the author reading the story and “Music Detective,” an instructional and fun guessing game about instruments.
