Greenvale Students Meet Children’s Author Tomie dePaola

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Greenvale School students in the class of teacher Eileen Finn were able to video-chat with noted children’s author Tomie dePaola in January. 

Tomie DePaola appeared on the smartboard screen as the children eagerly raised their hands for a chance to ask him questions.

The children were able to connect with the author from their desks in Greenvale to his studio barn in New Hampshire and ask the famous author/illustrator questions about his writing and characters. 

The author told them that many of his ideas come from true events in his life. Tomie dePaola has written and/or illustrated more than 200 books, including favorites "Strega Nona," "26 Fairmount Avenue," "The Art Lesson" and "Christmas Remembered."
