For the 11th straight year, the Harlem Wizard – known as much for their trick shots and antics as their sheer athletic ability – will face an all-star team of Eastchester teachers and administrators in a battle at the high school.
Each year the Eastchester Schools Foundation arranges a matchup between the Wizards and members of the faculty. Last year, the Wizards narrowly edged the home team in an entertaining back and forth battle.
According to the Wizards’ website, “the artistry of the Wizards is evident as they elevate the star-status of the home team, featuring teachers, principals and local notables. Never in the history of sport will the losing team have so much fun.”
The game will feature an interactive halftime show, where children can interact with Wizards players, and there will be an autograph signing session following the game.
Eastchester schools officials have warned sports fans that this is one of the Eastchester School Foundation’s most popular event, that sells out quickly each year. Those interested in attending are advised to jump quickly to purchase tickets.
Doors to the game will open up at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, with a scheduled tip off an hour later. Tickets can be purchased at the Eastchester Schools Foundation website through Friday, Jan. 23.
