On Monday, district officials announced that all after school programs have been cancelled, and schools will be closed entirely on Tuesday with winter storm Juno rapidly approaching. Officials also noted that students should anticipate a delayed opening or additional closure on Wednesday.
Parents will “receive a communication Wednesday morning, along with additional information regarding high school testing. (The district’s) decision making is for the safety of children and staff.”
According to the National Weather Service, there will be “blizzard like conditions” beginning on Monday afternoon and continuing through Tuesday night. As many as 16 inches of snow may fall overnight, with an additional seven to 11 inches expected on Tuesday. There will be blustery winds, with gusts reaching 35 mph and temperatures hovering around 25 degrees.
