McGrath no-hit Yorktown, 13-1, in a semifinal to earn a second meeting with Brewster, in the final. With the score even in the sixth, Marie McNerny and Kim Zapata delivered hits to give the Junction Girls the lead in an eventual 6-4 win. Turco, McGrath and Montes, the winning pitcher, also had RBI hits in the game.
The improvement, this season, has been astronomical, manager John McGrath said. The girls worked hard all winter and it paid off on the field. I cant wait for the fall season. The sky is the limit for the girls.
