Relay Record Lifts Lake Isle Over Greenburgh

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- An exciting end in the relay races determined the winner Thursday as the Lake Isle Swim team nipped Greenburgh at the finish by a score of 242-228 in Westchester Swim Conference meet at Lake Isle pool.

Lake Isle swimmer Nick Torres raced the victory in three events - the 10-and-under boys’ freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly. Johji Nonaka of Lake Isle won both the eight-and-under boys’ freestyle and butterfly events.

Teammate Yuma Kase took first place in the 14-and-under girls’ backstroke and butterfly. Lake Isle’s 10-and-under boys freestyle relay team broke its own record set last week with a new time of 2:06.75. The team included Aiden Bowers, Luca Quinones, Ryan Maierle and Nick Torres.
