Yorizzo's No-Hitter Leads Eastchester To Softball Win

THORNWOOD, N.Y. — Olivia Yorizzo threw a no-hitter and struck out 18 batters as Eastchester defeated Sherman Park, 11-3, in a winners bracket game of the District 20 Little League Softball Minor’s Championship on Wednesday.

Eastchester will host Harrison at 10 a.m. Saturday at O’Rourke Field in the winners bracket final. The winner advances to the championship game at 7 p.m. July 5 at Sherman Park Little League's Volunteer Field.

Sherman Park plays Scarsdale in a losers bracket game at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at McDowell Field in Ardsley.

In Eastchester’s first two wins, Yorizzo has allowed only one hit in 10 innings and has 29 strikeouts.

Ashley Anello paced the 12-hit attack, going three-for-three, including a double, and scoring three runs. Angelina Porcello smacked a two-run double in the fourth inning. Eastchester manager Ken Graham cited Giuliana Fogliano, Ashley Graham and Yorizzo for adding big hits.
