Nightly Hutch Roadwork Could Be Delayed By Rain

PELHAM, N.Y. – The roadwork that has caused nightly closures on the Hutchinson River Parkway will potentially be set back this week because of inclement weather.

The repaving was scheduled to end on Sept. 15, but rain throughout this week could delay the process.

"Honestly, it all depends on the weather," said Melissa Slater, assistant to the regional director at the New York State Department of Transportation. "We were doing one side and then we were planning to do the other side, but we can't pave in the rain. So it's going to keep deterring and making it longer."

All southbound lanes on the Hutchinson River Parkway between Exit 15 and Exit 7 close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. as workers pave the roads.
