The forward speed of this storm system is questionable but could be detrimental to outdoor activities in the area, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson.
"A fast-moving storm may allow clearing in the Midwest but cause holiday to be ruined in the Northeast," Anderson said.
After another mostly sunny and comfortable day Thursday of this week, there is a chance of thunderstorms on Friday as temperatures climb into the mid- and upper-80s and humidity increases.
Saturday will be partly sunny and again humid with a high in the mid-80s.
The outlook for Sunday calls for a mix of sun and clouds with a pop-up thunderstorm possible and a high in the low-80s.
Monday and Tuesday will both be partly cloudy days with highs in the low-80s and a chance of storms in the afternoon and evening each day.
Next Wednesday, July 5 is expected to be cloudy with showers and a high in the upper-70s.
