An 80-year-old Princeton woman was injured and cited for careless driving after causing a two-car crash in Montgomery on Thursday, May 2, authorities said. At 12:52 pm, the woman was driving a 2009 Honda northbound on Route 206 near Applegarth Road when she rear-ended a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck that was stuck in traffic, Montgomery police said on Facebook. A Lakewood man will spend several years in prison after admitting to sharing child pornography, authorities said. Matthew Robles, 32, was sentenced on Friday, May 3 to seven years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Monday, May 6. He pleaded guilty on Monday, May 15, 2023, to distribution of child pornography and failure to register as a Megan's Law offender. Trapped Construction Worker Dies In NJ Trench Tragedy: Police
A construction worker was killed after he was trapped in a large hole in Kenilworth on the morning of Monday, May 6, authorities said. Around 9 a.m., the construction workers were attempting to install a storm drain in the back of the business on Monroe Avenue using an excavator when the man became trapped, Kenilworth police said. First responders attempted life saving measures but the worker, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. A New Jersey State Police trooper has died suddenly, the department said. Trooper II Marcellus E. Bethea, who worked in Troop D at the Moorestown station, died during training, Colonel Patrick J. Callahan said. Bethea was an eight-year NJSP veteran and was a member of the 156th State Police Class. Fiery Crash Hospitalizes Driver On Route 287 In Bernards
An early-morning crash on Route 287 sent one person to the hospital, police said A Toyota and Subaru collided on the northbound side of the highway around 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, causing the Toyota to erupt in flames near milepost 26 in Bernards Township, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and the driver of the Toyota was taken to an area hospital for further medical evaluation.
