Hopewell Junction Man Struck, Killed By Pickup Truck A 39-year-old Hudson Valley man was struck and killed by a Dodge Ram pickup truck while standing on a roadway in Connecticut. The crash occurred in Hartford County around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, on I-91 north of the Exit 46 on-ramp in Enfield. According to the Connecticut State Police, Dutchess County resident TJ Jennings of Hopewell Junction was standing in the highway's right lane when struck by the truck. The Albany County incident happened Tuesday, April 23, at Bethlehem High School. According to Bethlehem Police, the juvenile suspect intentionally started a fire in a school bathroom in the C wing.  No students or staff were injured, but the incident forced an evacuation of the building that lasted nearly an hour. Driver Dies In Fiery Crash On I-84 In Putnam County A person was killed in a fiery crash on a busy Hudson Valley highway, police announced.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Monday, May 6, around 7:15 p.m., when a vehicle traveling on I-84 in Kent left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. After hitting the tree, the vehicle went up in flames, Hicks said. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash has not been released. 90 Cats Rescued From 'Deplorable' Dutchess County Home Police are investigating after 90 cats were in poor health and deplorable living conditions in a home in the region. Dutchess County Sheriff's Office members discovered the cats at a home in Dover on Saturday, May 4. According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the home for a report of animal cruelty. Upon investigation, 90 cats were in poor health and were rescued by deputies and volunteer animal rescue workers.
