Loaded Handgun Recovered At Scene After 15-Year-Old Shot In Region An investigation is underway after a 15-year-old was found shot in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 2:44 p.m. on Friday, April 19, in the area of 86 Smith St., in Poughkeepsie. According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police, officers responding to the report of a shot fired found a 15-year-old suffering from a severe gunshot wound to the leg. Responding officers secured the scene and immediately rendered medical aid, including applying a tourniquet.  The victim was transported via EMS to an area hospital and is expected to recover.  During a search of …

Inmate's Death At Schenectady County Jail Being Investigated An investigation is underway after an inmate died at a jail in the region. Staff at the Schenectady County jail discovered 53-year-old Hussayn McCain unresponsive in his cell at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, according to the sheriff’s office. Officers and medics attempted to revive the man, but he was later pronounced dead at Ellis Hospital. Sheriff’s officials did not speculate on a possible cause of death. ID Released For Woman Who Died After Jumping From Bridge In Region A woman who jumped to her death from a Hudson Valley bridge has been identified by police. Dutchess County resident Dawn Stackhouse, age 52, of Beekman, jumped from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge in Rhinebeck, on Monday, April 1. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, an investigation determined Stackhouse jumped from the bridge around 9:50 a.m. Good Samaritans fishing near the bridge removed her from the water and attempted life-saving measures, Hicks said.
