Teen Duo Charged With Attempted Murder Following Shooting In Troy Two underage teens are facing attempted murder charges following a shooting in the region. The Rensselaer County incident happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, in Troy, near 3rd and Jefferson streets. Troy Police said someone called 911 saying they had heard multiple gunshots in the area. When officers arrived, they interviewed an individual who they believe to have been the intended target of the shooting. The victim was not struck and there were no reports of injuries. Dutchess County resident Jose J. Cruz, age 22, of Beacon, was arrested early Monday, March 25 in Hyde Park by members of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force. According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Task Force, Cruz had been under investigation for the sale of fentanyl and other drugs in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and the surrounding areas. Montgomery County resident Diamond Hoover was last seen on Thursday, March 14, and was reported as a runaway, according to Amsterdam Police.
